PCR2 Firmware 3.4.x

The following documentation relates to PCR2 Firmware V3.4.x only.

Functionality

Device startup sequence

After swithing on the device, following sequence will start.

  1. Initialization of Radar Processor. LEDs are constantely on.

  2. Start Join-Procedure (only if LoRa Modem is enabled). LEDs are blinking slowly

  3. After receiving Join Accept, the device switches sends the Configuration Payload on port 190

Detection mode

  1. LEDs are off and are quickly flashing if a object gets detected.

  2. After Interval time is up, the device sends the PCR2 Application Payload on port 14. This can be done in Confirmed or Unconfirmed Mode.

  3. In Confirmed mode LEDs are on until succesfull received a ACK. After receiving the ACK LTR and RTL counters will be reset. If the device operated in Unconfirmed Mode counters will be immediately reset after sending w/o waiting for an ACK.

Payloads

Starting with V3.4.0 you can choose between 3 different application payloads. Documentation

  • __Default Payload, ELSYS compatible (Uplink only)
  • Extended Payload, All functions including Intervals, Sums (Uplink/Downlink)
  • Cayenne LPP, compatible to MyDevices encoders (Uplink Only)

Firmware Changelog

3.4.3 - 2020-06-24

Fixed a problem when using XIO Downlinks ind XIO RC Mode.

Update when using XIO Downlinks.

3.4.2 - 2020-06-12

Minor bugfix with sum counters. CapacityLimit can be set to more than 1000 now.

Update when using CapacityLimit with more then 1000 persons.

3.4.1 - 2020-06-11

PCR2-XIO devices switch to RX mode when receiving an XIO downlink payload.

Update if you are using XIO Downlinks.

3.4.0 - 2020-06-09

Introduced Extended Payload with sums that can also be reset by a downlink. Changed Cayenne LPP Payload to include battery gauge. Devices can now be switched to LoRa Class C.

PCR2-XIO only: Outputs can now be remote controlled by a payload

Update if you need the extended payload format

Additional Documentation

3.3.2 - 2020-05-27

This is the first firmware that operates with the new PCR2-XIO devices with integrated digital outputs. PCR2-XIO devices have been released for various COVID-19 applications but can also be used as industrial counters connected to an external controller.

V3.3.2 enables the NFC chip. In combination with our Android App you can access data directly by touching the front with your phone.

We also optimized the Antenna gain for better outdoor coverage. (Thanks Digita for the feedback)

3.2.0 - 2020-04-06

Firmware used for PCR2-T2 devices only. Needs radar firmware V2.2.0 for the speed detection in order to work.

PCR2-T2 will be replaced with TCR devices.

[3.1.0] - 2020-03-19

Added Cacapcity Counting Mode for COVID-19 counting applications

[3.0.3] - 2020-01-14

Removed the Uplink Interval limit. Uplink Interval can be set between 1-1440 min.

Please make shure you stay in the limits of your LoRaWAN™ network provider regarding maximum duty cycles allowed.

[3.0.2] - 2019-12-24

Minor Bugfix: Update only if you are using the CLI restart command

[3.0.1] - 2019-12-19

Minor optimizations in the Radar sequence timing. Update if you are not happy with power consumption.

[3.0.0] - 2019-12-04

First version for PCR2 Rev.03 devices forked from V2.0.4. We habe a Boot Button on the board for easy and save firmware updates. PCR Setup Tool now has integrated firmware update wizzard

How to Update Firmware

This procedure is for hardware rev. 03 devices only.

1. Check Hardware Revision

Please find the PCB number printed on the backside of the PCR2 mainboard.

Look for 1714-PCB0000-03

2. Connect your PCR2 to your PC

Connect your PCR2 with an USB cable to your Windows10 PC and start PCR Setup Tool.

Open PCR Setup Tool

3. Start Firmware Updater

Please start Firmware Updater and check if there is a new version available. Then follow the instructions of the wizzard.

Open PCR Setup Tool

Open PCR Setup Tool
